2 Moderate dysphagia or odynophagia may require narcotic analgesics/may require puree or liquid diet Symptomatic; medical intervention indicated; limiting instrumental ADL
3 Severe dysphagia or odynophagia with dehydration or weight loss > 15% from pretreatment baseline/requiring N-G feeding tube, iv. fluids or hyperalimentation Severe symptoms; limiting self-care ADL; oxygen indicated
