Under physiological conditions, blood is maintained in the fluid state by a delicate balance between the pro-coagulant factors [1], natural anti-coagulants [2], and fibrinolytic system which consists of fibrinolytic proteins [3] and inhibitors of fibrinolysis [4]. Thus, an increase in the levels of procoagulant factors combined with reduction in natural anticoagulants or fibrinolytic potential may result in predisposition for thrombosis. ASP and steroids act on different hemostasis pathways as shown above
