Overall methodology of the approach adopted in this research work. Twist was stably overexpressed in MCF-7 cells creating the MCF-7/Twist cell line. These Twist overexpressing cells were orthotopically inoculated in female SCID mice to form breast tumors which subsequently gave rise to lung metastases. Microarray analysis was performed at all stages of this process - the parental MCF-7 cell line, MCF-7/Twist cell line, primary breast xenograft tumors, and lung metastasis.
