CD133+ and CD133- cells are equally tumourigenic with distinct phenotypes. a Serial xeno-transplantation of CD133+ and CD133- cells over 7 generations (Gen0 to Gen6) in NOD/SCID mice. Serially sorted cells from 3 primary cell lines were injected sub-cutaneously (3–5 mice per group) and tumours grown to ~200 mm3. Tumours were pooled, resuspended and cultured for ~2 weeks before reinjection.
