Treatment with the analogs 2ac induce expression of E-cadherin and β-catenin at the cell surface. The cells were treated with a 50 nM concentration of the compounds for 72 h. ac E-cadherin, β-catenin and vimentin, respectively, detected with immunofluorescence microscopy after appropriate labeling with specific primary antibodies followed by secondary Alexa Fluor 488-conjugated antibodies (green). Nuclei were stained with bisbenzimide (blue). Bars = 20 μm. SA: salinomycin, 2a: carbamate, 2b: acetate, 2c: carbonate and 3: C1-methyl ester
