Ectopic expression of δEF1 is sufficient to attenuate BMP-6-induced transactivation of the E-cadherin in MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells. (a) Western blot with anti-myc antibody was performed to show δEF1-myc expression in MDA-MB-231 (Δ6B) and MDA-MB-231 (ΔδEF1) cells. Actin was used as a loading control. (b) MDA-MB-231 cells on a 6-well plate were co-transfected with a δEF1 expression plasmid (2 μg/well) and luciferase E-cadherin promoter constructs (2 μg/well) following treatment with 200 ng/ml rhBMP-6 after 24 h of transfection. The luciferase activity of the extracts was determined 24 h after BMP-6 induction using a Betascope analyzer.
