When comparing the precursor grade II (PXA-4) and anaplastic grade III (PXA-5) PXA tumors with average methylation observed in normal brain, specific gains of methylation involve specific nervous system pathways, as well as other related with oncogenic potential such as cell proliferation, motility and differentiation.
