Probability of distant metastasis by T-stage for patients who are N X M 0 . Total n = 38715, number of DM n = 3550. Whiskers indicate 95% confidence intervals determined using Poisson statistics. Below the T-stage further statistics are shown, including median diameter in mm, number of patients included, number of patients with a DM as well as mean and standard deviation of time to DM. The model was fit to 25% of the data for T1B tumors. In this subset of the data, there were 42 occurrences of DM in 1489 patients (2.8%) compared to 195 occurrences in 5957 patients (3.3%). Probability of DM for T1A, T1C and T2 was predicted using the model fit to T1B data.
