The two isoforms were detected on western blots, and their relative expression levels were determined by normalization to actin. Although expression of h-CaD (80 kDa) isoform did not differ among the sample groups, expression of l-CaD (65 kDa) was significantly increased in colon tumors (P = 0.0115) and liver metastases (P = 0.0355) compared with normal colon mucosa samples.
