  1. The indicated muscles were dissected from control or tumor-bearing (C26) mice three weeks following tumor transplant and their wet mass evaluated. Reported is the mean ± SEM of at least three independent experiments (for each data point, the number of replicates, "n", is: 4 < n < 10). Two-way ANOVA (F = 92.3, p < 0.0001 between rows; F = 534.9, p < 0.0001 between columns) indicates a statistically significant effect on muscle mass, independently of muscle type, induced by the presence of the tumor. * = p < 0.01 versus matching control by Student's t test.
