Podoplanin on the surface of tumour cells interacts with CLEC-2 on the platelet membrane, leading to the activation of platelets and inducing platelet and tumour cell aggregation. (C). Podoplanin on the surface of tumour cells interacts with CLEC-2 on the surface of platelets, inducing the phosphorylation of syk on the CLEC-2 cytoplasmic tail domain. The activated platelets aggregated and induced tumour cell aggregation as well. However, the mechanism of syk involvement remains unclear
