Mice bearing the established tumors were administered i.p. with liposomal honokiol (25 mg/kg) every day for 21 days, and/or cisplatin (5 mg/kg, i.p. twice a week for two weeks).or liposome or PBS alone. Vessel density was determined by counting per high-power field in the sections stained with an antibody reactive to CD31, as described in Materials and Methods. The combination of liposomal honokiol and DDP (A) apparently reduced the number of the microvessels, compared with the control groups, including liposomal honokiol (B), cisplatin (C), liposome (D) or PBS (E) alone.
