Cellular uptake of 1 and 2 in MCF-7 (A), MDA-MB-231 (B) and HCC1937 (C) cells. MCF-7, MDA-MB-231 and HCC1937 cells were exposed to an appropriate IC50 concentration of 1 or 2 (Table 1) for 2, 12, 24 and 48 h. The intracellular ruthenium content was subsequently determined by ICP-MS. Percentage localizing in the cell fragments calculated on the basis that their sum was 100%.
