(B) AOM/DSS-treated KAD rats were divided into experimental groups based on the number of tumors induced in their colons. The number of tumors induced in each animal determined by endoscopic observations varied from one to four. In total, 48 tumors were found in 27 rats. The tumor-bearing rats (nine per group) were divided into three groups (a: saline, b: 50 mg/kg 5-FU and c: 75 mg/kg 5-FU), so as not to be significantly different at the starting point of treatments.
