Classification of surgical margins [17]. Radical excision is defined as no tumor at inked cut edges in an adequately processed specimen. Focally irradical excision is defined as one limited area (≤ 4 mm) of tumor (invasive carcinoma and/or DCIS) at inked cut edges. Irradical excision is defined as a larger area (> 4 mm) of tumor or multiple areas of tumor at inked cut edges [17]
