Volcano plots of 1745 identified lipid species for screening of candidate predictors. Each data point represents an individual lipid species. The relative amount of five lipid species was decreased (green symbols, FC ≤ 0.5 = left side of − 1 on the horizontal axis, P-value < 0.05 = 1.30 on the vertical axis), while one lipid species was increased (red symbol, FC ≥ 2.0 = right side of 1 on the horizontal axis, P-value < 0.05 = 1.30 on the vertical axis).
