This research verified that a lower level of lncFGD5-AS1 could induce higher tumor cell viability and more migration tumor cells in vitro and larger tumor volume and tumor growth rate in vivo, which led to more advanced levels of TNM stage, deeper serous membrane infiltration, higher anatomic stage/prognostic groups, worse prognosis, and lower survival probability in gastric cancer patients. In mechanism, this article also investigated that lncFGD5-AS1 worked through regulating miR-196a-5p/SMAD6/BMP axis on the EMT process and served as a potential therapeutic candidate for gastric cancer.
