Validation of a significant association between expression of KLK5 mRNA and survival of patients using accessible Affymetrix microarray data. For analysis of the prognostic value of KLK5 expression, the microarray data provided by ‘The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA)’ (probe ID 222242_s_at) were used. Selection criteria for patients included (i) serous histological type, (ii) advanced stage (FIGO III/IV), (iii) high-grade (grade 3), (iv) chemotherapy using platinum compounds, and (v) a follow-up of 5 years. The selection resulted in a patient cohort encompassing 377 patients for analysis of the association with PFS (a) and 398 patients for PFS (b), respectively
