Colony-forming ability of irradiated DK-MG (a) and SNB19 (b) cells pre-treated for 3 h prior to IR with MK-2206, PI-103 or both. Cells were seeded for the colony-forming test 24 h after IR. Ten to twelve days later, colonies containing at least 50 cells were counted as survivors. Data derived from at least five independent experiments for each cell line (each performed four times) were pooled together and fitted to a linear-quadratic equation (Eq. 1).
