Swainsonine affected glioma cell growth, migration and invasion by regulating miR-92a. MiR-92a mimic, inhibitor and the relevant negative control (NC) were transfected into U251 cells, and (a) the transfection efficiency of miR-92a mimic and miR-92a inhibitor was appraised by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR); b BrdU positive cells was detected by Bromodeoxyuridine (BrdU) assay; c and d CyclinD1, Cyclin-dependent kinase 4 (CDK4), and p16 were appraised by western blot; e and f cell apoptosis and pro-Caspase-3, pro-Caspase-9, cleaved-Caspase-3 and cleaved-Caspase-9 were appraised by utilizing flow cytometry and western blot assays; g-l cell migration, invasion, the protein levels of matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-2/− 9, Vimentin and E-cadherin were detected by Transwell and western blot assays. *p < 0.05; **p < 0.01; ***p < 0.001
