Small-EV proteins from HT-29 and HCT-116 colon cancer cell lines were identified by proteomic analysis and candidate proteins predicted to be upregulated in colon cancer patients compared to the healthy controls were selected. Candidate proteins were verified by western blot analysis. Among these candidates, TSPAN1 was further validated by ELISA
