Sanguinarine-induced apoptosis of CRC cells was Bax-depedent. a HCT116 WT and HCT116 Bax−/− cells were incubated with various concentrations of sanguinarine for 24 h and 48 h. Cell viability was detected by MTT assay (n = 5). b Apoptosis cells were quantifiedby flow cytometry after PE-Annexin V and 7-AAD staining (n = 3). c Whole lysates were subjected to western blotting for expression of proteins of Bcl-2 and Bax. d Immunoblot was performed to evaluate cytochrome C in mitochondrial and cytoplasmic fractions.
