SSd inhibited the collagen I and III expression and secretion in HSC-T6 and LX-2 cells. (a and b) HSC-T6 and LX-2 cells were treated with or without SSd (1 μM) for 0, 24, 48 and 72 h. The total cellular protein content was extracted to measure the collagen type I and type III expression by western blotting. The fold change in protein expression is expressed as a ratio calculated by dividing the specific protein band density by the β-actin band density. The supernatant was collected to measure the secreted collagen type I (c) and collagen type III (d) by ELISA. *P < 0.01 versus time zero or the control group
