Tasquinimod normalizes the composition of splenic myeloerythroid precursor cells in tumor-bearing mice. BALB/c mice were inoculated with 105 4 T1 cells s.c. Tasquinimod (25 mg/kg/day) was given in the drinking water throughout the study. Spleens were collected 14 days post-inoculation and analyzed by flow cytometry. a, Gating strategy for the identification of splenic GMP (a), Pre GM (b), Pre MegE (c) and Pre CFU-E (d) cells within the Lin− c-kit+ Sca1− cell population. b, Pie charts showing the composition of the splenic Lin− c-kit+ Sca1− cell population. c, Pie charts showing the composition of the bone marrow Lin− c-kit+ Sca1− cell population. Representative results of two independent experiments are shown for a-c. d, Numbers of splenic myeloerythroid progenitors. Pooled data (indicated by open and filled symbols, respectively) from two independent experiments are shown (naïve, n = 10; ctrl, n = 14; tasq 0–14, n = 13). n.s. = not significant, **P < 0.01, ****P < 0.0001, Mann–Whitney U-test
