Receiver operating characteristics curves of bone metastasis according to five bone turnover markers. The best overall diagnostic performance for discriminating patients with bone metastases was provided by bone ALP assay, followed closely by PTH and CTx, and then by osteocalcin and 25(OH) D, in the order of diagnostic validity. The area under the ROC curve was 0.662, 0.542, 0.520, 0.484, and 0.474, respectively
