17β-estradiol increases SCD-1 levels in MCF-7 cells. MCF-7 cells were incubated for 7 days in phenol red-free media supplemented with charcoal-stripped FBS, followed by a 5 day incubation period in the same media that was supplemented with 2nM 17β-ED or its vehicle EtOH (Ctrl). Immunostaining was performed using an anti-SCD-1 antibody or its isotype control (Ab Ctrl with 17β-ED-treated cells) followed by an Alexa fluor-488-coupled secondary antibody (green) and 4–6 diamidino-2-phénylindole (DAPI) to stain nuclei (blue).
