Gene expression in whole tumors and isolated vascular fragments. Total tumor RNA or RNA from isolated vascular fragments were isolated from either host genotype and analyzed by real-time RT-PCR. Ct-values were determined using the Roche Lightcycler software and beta-actin values were subtracted to normalize for differences in total amounts of RNA. Relative values shown in table were calculated by the formula 2^{-ΔCt (Shb+/− minus Shb+/+)}. *indicates p < 0.05 when compared with wild type. N = 5–7.
