Induction of specific antibody responses. Mice were immunized with pcDNA3.1-VNTR, pcDNA3.1 or PBS and sera were harvested 5 days after the third immunization. The MUC1-specific IgG antibodies in sera of different groups were determined at a 1:200 dilution by ELISA. As shown in figure, relatively higher titres of anti-MUC1 antibodies were detected in the serum of pcDNA3.1-VNTR-vaccinated mice compared to that in the sera of the empty vector and PBS vaccinated groups (P < 0.05 by one-way ANOVA).
