Nucleolin and Met expression profiles during disease progression, as modeled across LNCaP and PC3 prostate cancer cell lines. (A) Comparison of protein levels in total cell lysate and plasma membrane fractions by Western blotting. (B) Normalizing membrane nucleolin levels to levels in the less-advanced parental cell lines of each progression model, reveals that membrane nucleolin levels are higher than parental in both C4-2 and PC3M. Nucleolin levels were 30% higher in prostate parental cells compared to normal (p69 and RWPE-2) prostate epithelial cells (data not shown).
