1The adenomas are divided in groups according to diagnosed degree of dysplasia (mild/moderate or severe).

2There were significantly more males in the group with severe dysplasia compared to the group of healthy individuals (p = 0.014). There was no significant difference in the number of males and females between the group of healthy individuals and the group with mild/medium dysplasia or between the group of healthy individuals and the group with carcinomas (χ2 test).

3There are significant differences in age among the four groups of healthy and affected individuals at 95% confidence level. There is no significant difference in age between the three case groups (Mann-Whitney test).
