  1. The in vitro doubling time is determined after two days of culture of 106 cells / well in a 6-wells plate. The Volume Doubling Time of subcutaneous tumours is assessed between 1000 and 2000 mm3. For the lung metastasis the doubling time was determined between day 11 and 22 for the L44 and between day 20 and 53 for the L42 carcinoma. The micro-vascular density (MVD) represents the surface of all endothelial cells as percentage of the surface of non-necrotic tissue. This was measured in 10 × 10 × 10 mm subcutaneous tumours. The values indicate means ± SD.
