Figure 6From: The basal epithelial marker P-cadherin associates with breast cancer cell populations harboring a glycolytic and acid-resistant phenotype MFE (%) decreases upon siRNA-mediated silencing of CDH3 , HIF-1α, GLUT1 and CAIX in SUM149 cells. siRNA-mediated silencing of CDH3, HIF-1α, GLUT1 and CAIX was confirmed by western blot analysis (A). A statistically significant decrease in MFE (%) was observed when we silenced CDH3, HIF-1α, GLUT1 and CAIX. The simultaneous silencing of CDH3 and HIF-1α also revealed a significant decrease of MFE (%) of the target cells, although not cumulative.
