Ruthenium(II) polypyridyl complexes induced apoptosis in MCF-7, MDA-MB-231 and HCC1937 cells treated with appropriate IC ₅₀ concentrations of 1 (A) or 2 (B) (Table 1) for 24 h. The percentage of apoptotic cells was detected by analyzing for the Annexin V-FITC and PI binding using flow cytometry.
