From: Fluoxetine modulates breast cancer metastasis to the brain in a murine model
Fluoxetine administration increases BBB permeability. Fluoxetine was administered for 3 weeks before animals were injected intravenously with 2% Evan’s Blue solution. One hour after the injection, brain tissue was collected and processed as described. Tissue supernatants were analyzed by spectroscopy at 620 nm to determine Evan’s Blue absorbance. The results show significant effects of fluoxetine treatment. n = 6-7 per group, p < 0.0001.
