Inhibited growth and decreased migration of HeLa cells transfected with C/EBPα construct. (A) MTT Assay: equal numbers of HeLa cells transfected with either empty vector (pcDNA3.1) and C/EBPα expression vector (pcDNA3.1- C/EBPα), and non-transfected cells (HeLa cells), were grown in the serum-free DMEM medium. After 24 hours, cell proliferation was determined by MTT assays. Cell numbers between pcDNA3.1-C/EBPα transfected groups and between pcDNA3.1 transfected and non-transfected groups were significantly different with mean ± SD (n = 10) (P < 0.001). (B) The photographs show a representative field from each of the cell lines that have migrated into the chamber. pcDNA3.1-C/EBPα group cell migration is reduced than pcDNA3.1 vector and non transfected HeLa cells.
