MAPK pathway has distinct effects on migration and invasion in response to LPA, HGF and EGF. MDA-MB-231 cells were treated with one of two MEK1/2 inhibitors, U0126 or PD98059, and then assessed for either migration (A) or invasion (B) toward the indicated chemoattractant. Cells migrated or invaded were then quantified, and results graphed as described in Figure 2. Data are representative of a minimum of three independent assays for each condition. Statistically significant differences between stimulated and stimulated plus inhibitor-treated cell conditions only were determined using a t-test (*p < 0.02).
