(A) Immunohistochemical staining of blood vessel density was performed on bone sections using the pan-endothelial marker CD34 and quantified. Three regions with highest blood vessel density were selected and the number of angiogenic vessels counted. Box plot shows 25–75 percentiles, whiskers 05–95 percentiles, line indicates median of 5 animals per group. Significance was determined by 2-tailed Student t-test (**p < 0.01). Blood vessel count is significantly reduced with Sunitinib treatment (mean ± SD: Ctrl 138.8 ± 27.3; Sunitinib 63.4 ± 45.7).
