Lymphocyte infiltration at sites of focal capsule disruptions of normal appearing tissues. Paraffin-embedded human breast (A-B) and prostate (C-D) tissue sections were double immunostained for SMA (red) plus LCA (brown) or CK34βE12 plus LCA. Note that most infiltrating lymphocytes (arrows) are located on the site of focally disrupted epithelial capsules (circles), in which the overlying epithelial cells formed tongue-like projections invading the adjacent stroma.
