Effect of TGZ on the expression and activity of MMP-2 within the tumor. (A) Immunohistochemistry for MMP-2 was performed using the primary tumor sections. The values given in photographs show the MMP-2-labeling index and are the means ± SE for five determinations in the control group and ten determinations in the TGZ group. *p < 0.01 (compared with the control group). (B) The activity of MMP-2 in the supernatant (10 μg of protein/lane) of tumor homogenate was assayed using gelatin zymography. The upper panel shows a representative gelatine zymogram.
